Graduate Recognition Sunday – June 6th

Dear Seniors and Families:

The end of the school year is rapidly approaching and our seniors will soon begin a new chapter of their lives. Every year our church takes a moment to pause and recognize our graduates and bless them during a special Sunday service. We want our graduates to see and understand the love we have for them as they start a new phase of life.

This year our Graduate Recognition Sunday is June 6th at the  9:29 a.m. service in the Chapel where our graduates will be recognized and blessed by the Student Ministry. At the 11 a.m. service in the Sanctuary our graduates will be recognized as part of the service and have the opportunity to participate by serving communion.

We are asking our graduating seniors and their families to join us for this special time in the life of our church. Graduates will have a reserved seating area in the front of the church for the service. We also ask that the graduates would wear their cap and gown as part of the services.

We are creating a video to present at the services as part of our celebration of our students’ achievements. Each graduate is requested to provide up to 4 photographs of themselves along with some details regarding their next steps in life. These images and quotes along with a few short video clips will be used to create our video.

Deadline for information and image submission is Sunday May 30th.

Submissions can be delivered to the church office or emailed. If you are interested in serving communion at the 11 a.m. service, please include that in your submission.

Sincerely yours,

Michael J. McCrystal

New News

Hey Everyone!

I hope your new year is going well already. I have a couple things to remind you about.

#1 We are back online with 929 this week. It will be a good start to the new year for all of us to get back together again to worship. I'll see you in the chapel at 929a.m. tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow is Sunday, I know, vacation slipped by too quickly...

#2 Mark your calendar, Next Sunday, January 10th we are having a very special guest worship leader at 929. Chris Padgett, the former lead singer of Scarecrow and Tinmen is coming to take over 929 for the morning. We will get a little taste of his music and style in the morning and then come back at 5 p.m. for a full dose of his music and message. He's not only a great musician and a gifted speaker, he's a good friend of Pastor Matt's, so make him feel welcome.

See you tomorrow at 929!

HELP!!

Hey Gang,
The rummage sale set up is Friday Night at 6 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club. This is going to be our biggest sale yet and we will need as many volunteers as possible to unload the trailers and my very full office. If you can't come at 6 because of a football game etc, text me and see if we are still working. We might might need you still.
Yes, students and parents who serve with us on the rummage sale will be receiving credit toward summer camps and mission trips. If you are planning on doing any of the trips this summer, this is the best way to earn those funds.
Also, we will need some people with trucks to do some pick ups on Friday evening. If you can loan us yourself and your truck, please give me a call and let me know.

Thanks!

Its begining to look a lot like a rummage sale

This is my office at the church. This is the overflow from two trailers at the Boys and Girls Club.

Any questions?

We will need lots of help for set up on the 30th at 6 pm

Trunk n’ Treat

Trunk N’ Treat is fast approaching!!! This is a huge outreach event for our church and we are expecting a lot of families this year, as we are having our event on the Friday evening before Halloween, October 30th, and not on the day itself. We need your help…sign-ups for trunk decorating and candy have been very slow. It is a lot of fun to decorate a trunk and let the kids trick or treat from it. You certainly do not have to have kids to participate. Please consider decorating one of your car trunks and taking part in this event. If you know you cannot attend but would like to help, we also are in need of donated candy.

Trunk N’ Treat runs from 5:30-6:45 (trunks need to be in place by 5:15). We will have two large inflatables on the courtyard, as well as hot dogs, chips, and lemonade. The fun continues at the God, Family, and You service (GFU) which starts at 7:00 in the sanctuary. This is a really fun, exciting event – great opportunity for inviting unchurched friends and neighbors!!!

Thank you in advance for your help!

In His Name,

Vicki Harrison
