Crazy things happen…
When you work in student ministry. This was a special gift I woke up to on a Saturday morning a few months ago. I love college students.
Rummage Sale!
Hey Guys,
We need your stuff... old stuff... clothes, shoes, toys, games, electronics... just about anything for our annual Student Ministry Rummage Sale. We will begin collecting items at the church for our October 31st sale very soon.
All the funds raised will be divided among the students who serve on the team to set up, tear down and maintain the sale while it us running. You earn money for your summer mission trips and camps, people in the community get affordable items they need and the Salvation Army gets everything that's left to use as part of their ministry. That's a win, win, win as far as I'm concerned.
The Full Details are HERE.
What Would the Ministry Look Like…
if you were in charge? What would you change, keep the same, avoid at all cost...
I love to hear your ideas. You are the experts on being a teenager.
Leave a comment to let me know what you think.
Senior Trip
I've been thinking for a while about starting a new tradition. I would like to take a group of our Seniors on a trip in the spring before the end of the school year. Somewhere fun, relaxing and with lots of time for us to talk, plan, dream about their future.
Where would you like to go as a senior?
Photo Galleries
I'll be putting photos back online soon. I'm reworking how we display them on the blog to make it searchable so you can look up photos from events etc fairly easily.
The Great Pumpkin Chase
Are you ready for the world's greatest cross-Brandon scavenger hunt?
Have you started creating your team... the smartest people you know.... a cunning and safe driver.... a gps unit... mobile satellite communications... support team... search dogs...
Ok, thats a bit extreme... or is it?
Sunday October 18th we will be hitting the streets for the Great Pumpkin Chase of 2009. (YES, THE DATE CHANGED) From 5 - 8 p.m. students and leaders will be cracking clues, solving codes, riddling riddles and using all the powers of intellect at their disposal in order to capture the fleeting moment of glory when they raise the cup of victory.
Wow, that seems a bit intense. It's actually a lot of fun and the competition between teams is just the start of it all.
We are meeting in the Chapel at 5 p.m. If you have a new member of your team, they will need a copy of the permission form. You can download it here.
Here's the flyer to hand out to friends you are recruiting for your team!

What a great weekend!
I was so amazed when the weather opened up for us on Saturday afternoon so we could hit the pool and relax a bit before the big night at Universal Studios. Throughout the night we had some sprinkles and that was it. Torrential downpours in the morning and beautiful afternoon and evening. I never would have guessed it.
Is anyone else still a bit drowsy?
